He has His hands on you

March was a difficult month. There were quite a number of hurdles I had to overcome. Things were not going as planned. It looked like things had plateaued with my business and just when things were looking like they were going to change, it all came to a halt. I also had urgent financial needs that didn’t look like they were going to be met. In fact, most days I wasn’t sure of how I was going to get to work or church.

Do you know what kept me throughout this month?

It is the knowledge that God is with me. Simple. There was no need to panic. I will not lie and tell you that I was bold and confident throughout. There were days that I was afraid. My human mind could not understand how I could survive on N1000 for the rest of the month. This was about two weeks into the month. And did I forget to mention that I was owing people money? A friend of mine is getting married and she kept sending gentle reminders about the money I owed for the bridal train dress. Little did she know that I was extremely rich to put it nicely.

It’s a day to the end of March and guess what? I made it. God saw me through. I didn’t have to beg. I never missed one service. There was a day that I had decided not to go for Wednesday service because I didn’t have enough money to bring me back home but my spirit did not allow me. I went for service and made it back home with some change to spare.

What is that issue that is causing you so much stress? Are you neck-deep in debt that it looks like you will never find your way out? Just put your trust in God. Even in your darkest hour, He has His hands on you. He just wants you to believe in Him. I know it could be difficult. Trust me, I’ve been there but what I’ve realised is that there is little or nothing you can achieve using your own strength.  When you have no where left to turn to, would you rather die of worry or go to the person who makes the impossible possible?

God’s mercy is everlasting and it is for everyone. You just have to accept Him as Lord over your life. There are so many things we struggle with in life that are just unnecessary burdens. When you have a relationship with God, you just know that you can never fail or lack anything so your mind is at peace. That is why Scripture says, “You will keep Him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You because He trusts in You.” Walking with God brings us great peace; peace that surpasses all understanding. I must admit it takes a while to get to this point. I didn’t have this peace when I initially gave my life to Christ but as I got to know Him better and I released my cares to Him, I began to experience that peace. I began to confess God’s word with more boldness.

The truth is God loves you and He does not want you to worry. Every painful season He takes you through is for your own good; believe it or not. Just trust in Him. Even when it looks like God is far away from you, can you just believe in Him? He will never leave or forsake you. He is always with us. Always. So don’t let worry take your joy away. Don’t let the issues of life make you depressed. Hold on to God and let Him lead you. He will never fail you.
