The 5 things I am very grateful for

Gratitude

I know I promised to put up part two of yesterday’s post today but I am just so mentally drained right now. I’ve been working overnight and sleeping really late and it’s beginning to take it’s toll. You’re wondering where my self-imposed holiday went to right? Honestly, I don’t know. I think at this point I just have to admit it; I am a chronic workaholic. I don’t know what it is about work that just gets me going. As funny as it sounds, stressful situations drive me. I love things that push me to my limits. Unfortunately, I tend to go overboard with this.

So what shall I blog about today? I don’t want to ramble, it’ll be a total waste of your time. Oh I’ve got it! How about sharing the things I am grateful to God for. Yes that should work. There are so many things that I grateful to God for right now. Like I wrote last week, things have not gone the way I planned but I thank God for where I am right now. Compared to this period last year, I have grown in many ways and great things have happened to me. I visited my friend from sixth-form yesterday at her newly launched store and when she was getting overwhelmed with the things she still needs to achieve, I had to tell her to take a break and thank God for where she is right now. The last time I saw her, which actually happens to be around this time last year, she didn’t have a store and her business was on a much smaller scale. One year later, she has a store in a very good location, a beautiful product line and so many other things. What’s there not to be grateful for?

So here are five things I am grateful to God for. Of course they are more than five but for the purpose of brevity (and also the fact that I am mentally tired) I am just going to limit it to five:

  1. I am grateful for my family. I have had many challenges with my family but in the midst of these challenges, there have been blessings. After months of house-hunting, my mum got an amazing house at a very good price. My dad is alive and well and my bother is doing well in school.
  2. I am grateful for all the success I have achieved so far. I still have so much more to achieve but I thank God for the things He has enabled me to do with my skills and talent.
  3. I am grateful for all the painful things that I have had to go through. They have made me a much better person. They have helped me to reach out and help others who are currently going through the same thing. I thank God for the privilege of being a blessing to others.
  4. I thank God for my business. Despite several bumps and roadblocks, I am making progress. I signed on a new client yesterday and I am really excited to start work on the brief.
  5. Finally, I am grateful for my friends. There are people who have stayed with me through thick and thin. I have to admit I am not very good at keeping in touch with friends but I thank God for those who understand and love me anyway (as you can imagine, they are not many). I am grateful for what they have been able to achieve. It is great to sit with your friends and listen to what they have achieved and the great plans they have. Ladies really, not every time backbiting and envy. Sometimes love and support.

So there you have it. I promise to put up the second part of my internship post tomorrow. Right now, I am just going to hit my bed and sleep (don’t judge me; I’m my own boss. I can do whatever I want :-P)
