Praise God! The weekend is here. This week has been a very exciting one for me. A lot of opportunities came my way which I am grateful to God for. Lately, things have been moving a bit slow and it was refreshing to have all these opportunities come my way this week. I felt this new burst of energy.
Patience is an important virtue to have. We need to learn how to wait; to persevere, even in tough times. Most people are in such a hurry today that they skip a lot of vital steps in their journey in life. I like the way it is put in Ecclesiastes 3, there is a time and season for every thing. There is a time to sow and there is a time to harvest. Likewise, there is a time to work hard and reap the fruits of your labour. It’s a process. Don’t be in a hurry to skip through the process. Have you ever baked bread and when you see it rising, you open the door of the oven? What happened? The bread fell flat. Why? It’s because it was not yet time to open the oven door. The bread had not reached it’s full-term to borrow that word.
Don’t be eager to get over painful times of your life like being broke or overcoming a challenge. The process is necessary because of the lessons to be learnt from it. When you go through challenges and learn from it, you become a better person. You become stronger and wiser. I have learnt more from challenging situations in my life than I have learnt from the good times. I discovered that I was much more stronger that I thought. I also developed a mindset that things will work out well in the end. It took me a while to realise this but when challenges come I just know that in the end, everything will be fine. That’s just how life it.
Learn to recognise the seasons of your life. Know what you are supposed to learn at each given point and make sure you learn it properly. And most importantly, persevere. It may be painful now but it won’t last forever. Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. Those are not my words. God said so and I believe Him.
Have a great weekend *big smile*
