What a day! Today has been really fantastic. It’s a public holiday here in Nigeria in celebration of the muslim ramadan fast. My church decided to host a family fun day event for all its members and I was busy all day!
The event definitely surpassed expectations. I’m sure there were some people that were sceptical of how everything would turn out. A few spoke to me and I managed to convince them to still come and they had a great time. It wasn’t just about the singing and dancing and the rest of the presentations that we had; it was the fact that we had an opportunity to bond with ourselves that made today truly special for Global Harvest Church Bodija members. We relaxed and enjoyed each other’s company in God’s presence.
That’s how God wants us to be. Beyond going to church every Sunday and Wednesday, we need to socialise with ourselves. I’m sure many of you go to church and don’t know the name of every one in your department for example. It’s not cool. We need to go beyond ‘hello brother’ and ‘hello sister’ and actually get to know people. The friendships you form might just be the medium through which God will bring about that blessing you’ve been expecting. You never know.
I am looking forward to more family fun day events in my church but I am also looking forward to forming more great friendships with other members of my church.
So here’s a shout out to Global Harvest Church Bodija, the best church ever (it’s my blog I’m allowed to be biased.hehe).
