Bitter Lemon or Lemonade? The choice is yours

Another Friday is upon us. The days just keep flying by. I still remember last Friday quite vividly.

Isn’t it interesting how we start a new week or even a new month with so much energy and tenacity and by the end of the week or month, that energy for a lot of people will be non-existent? Hope is usually very high at the beginning; there is more optimism and belief that things will be better. Then things don’t go according to how we imagined and that hope suddenly begins to dwindle. It takes the bold and courageous to maintain the level of hope needed to see new things break forth.

Have you been trying something and it’s not been working? Have you applied for several jobs and all the feedback you have received are negative? Or perhaps you’ve been working hard to move that business or business idea to the next level and it’s not yielding any positive result. Don’t despair. Just hang in there. The blessing comes in the action. It’s easy to throw in the towel and say we are no longer interested in a failed pursuit. It’s easy to be discouraged when all your applications are rejected. I want to challenge you to take the hard route; stay the course. Apply to more companies. Find better ways to execute that business idea. No one ever celebrates a quitter.

A lot of us don’t realise that God blesses our action. Many so called prayer warriors just sit in their houses, fast and pray and expect a call that N1,000,000 has been paid into their account. Don’t get me wrong, that can happen but it is not God’s style. Go through the Bible; the people with outstanding blessings did something. They acted. Don’t forget that faith without works is dead.

So don’t give up just yet. When life throws you lemons, instead of making bitter lemon, why don’t you make lemonade instead (add a bit of sweet syrup to it as well). Let tough times toughen you up and not break you down. We are able to bear much more than we think we can.

Enjoy the weekend. Make it count because it’s the last one in July!
